We live in a phubbing world

I received my word of the day email today and the word was Phub.

According to dictionary.com the definition is as follows: to ignore (a person or one's surroundings) when in a social situation by busying oneself with a phone or other mobile device.

I must say this should be a wake up call if they’re giving it an actual definition…

I have been around people so often who cannot help themselves but flick through their devices. I understand that we may not always know what’s going on through their screen but I think it’s safe to say the assumption is pretty spot on.

I’ve have people mid conversation pull out their phone to pounce around on social media or do whatever else. I always make it a point to excuse myself from the conversation if I need to respond to a text, answer a call, or do something time sensitive on my phone.

The reality of it is that THAT reality is not real. I’ve witnessed young kids, teens, 20+ year olds take complete nonsense pictures just to fulfill a conversation on an app. Making fun faces or outrageous poses, make believing that what they’re doing is the best thing but truth is when they send that picture they go right back to miserable mush.

Whipped Tallow Body Butter

Whipped Tallow Body Butter

In the month of August, I will have a tester batch for all clients to try. I will have it in the studio with very neutral essential oils and or plain tallow butter. I would encourage that everyone try it and see its benefits. Then in the month of September I will have a product line for anyone to buy. I am super excited and super passionate about bringing this product to you guys. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Sarga!

An amazing type of bodywork!

I am so proud to say that I am the only certified Sarga barefoot bodywork practitioner in the Thomaston/Litchfield area. This is one of the most effective types of bodywork that I’ve ever received and practiced. Sarga allows for the unwinding of the fascial tissues alleviating chronic pain and structural issues. I recommend that every one tries it at least once, as long as there are no contraindications. The efficacy and euphoria will speak for itself!

Peanut’s Place!

As a small business owner myself, I love supporting other small businesses. Peanut’s Place has been a staple since she has opened up. It’s always fun stopping by the big truck, that my son now refers to as the “peanuts truck”. She has brought great tastes and community to the town and it’s always the place to stop by.
