Massage & Bodywork Sessions

Tailoring my sessions to meet the specific needs and objectives of my clients is the key to success. By taking the time to understand their unique situations and challenges, I can create a personalized plan that addresses their individual needs. This approach not only helps them achieve their goals, but also boosts their confidence and self-esteem as they see tangible progress towards their desired outcomes. Ultimately, my aim is to empower my clients to take control of their bodies and become the best versions of themselves.

Sarga Barefoot Bodywork

What is Sarga Barefoot Bodywork?

Sarga Bodywork marries method & design, enabling practitioners to gain tensional support & force with a fabric strap fastened to a massage table. By pulling up on the fabric while applying downward pressure, this added energy is safely and effectively transferred onto the recipient's body. This allows practitioners to deliver consistent, oblique pressure with their foot, to provide a uniquely effective myofascial therapy.

The goal with a Sarga Bodywork treatment is to provide a systematic and full-bodied "combing" of recipients’ connective tissue.

Using the metaphor of a comb being run through a lock of hair, straightening out twists, kinks, and facilitating more organization, Sarga Bodywork techniques aim to facilitate organization in the fibrous fascial network of the human body.

SargaRx

Sarga.Rx is a technical, client-active therapy that applies barefoot bodywork techniques to a structurally oriented, myofascial practice. Manual techniques are paired with integrative and corrective movement drills to facilitate lasting change. It is not a relaxing massage method; sessions are oriented towards facilitating mobility and alignment, decreasing pain/strain, and increasing neuromuscular fluency. Clients are kept engaged and involved during sessions with movement cues that elicit body awareness and mobility.

The Benefits of Structural Bodywork in a Series of Sessions

Although Structural Bodywork can be experienced in just one session to determine if it's right for you, it's most effective when taken in a series of sessions. This is because the treatment is highly targeted, and there simply isn't enough time in one session to address the entire body. Furthermore, overloading clients with too much information during a single session can be overwhelming and counterproductive to the intended goal of the treatment.

A series of two-three Structural Bodywork sessions (spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart) is the most beneficial way to address specific concerns, injury, or alignment patterns.

Sessions are goal-oriented rather than time-oriented; therefore session length will vary from client to client. Sessions usually need at least 90 minutes.

Post-Session Responses to Structural Bodywork

After Structural Bodywork, everyone's reaction is unique. Some feel an immediate sense of lightness and ease, while others may feel tenderness in targeted or unrelated areas. Other possible reactions include fatigue, immune system strain, increased appetite, or mood shifts. To properly integrate the structural changes, we recommend drinking extra fluids and doing light exercise post-session. It may take up to 4-7 days for the body to fully adjust.

What to Wear During Sarga.Rx Sessions

To ensure maximum comfort during Structural Integration sessions, it's recommended that you wear elastic clothing. Ladies may opt for stretchy yoga shorts or running shorts with built-in underwear and a sports bra (no intricate straps), a two-piece bathing suit, or full coverage bra(bandeau top) and underwear. As for men, running shorts with built-in underwear or briefs are ideal options.

Helpful Tips for Your Upcoming Structural Bodywork Session:

  • Take some time to relax and prepare yourself before and after the session to fully embrace the changes that will take place.

  • While light physical activity is recommended after a Structural Bodywork session, refrain from “out of the norm” intense exercise for a day before and after the session.

  • It's best to avoid deep tissue massage or chiropractic work the day before or after the session, and for the entire duration of a Structural Bodywork series.

  • Avoid applying body lotion, oil, sunscreen, or heavy make-up prior to your session to ensure the best results.

Myofascial Bodywork

Unwinds and stretches fascial* tissue, Rebalances the body, Eliminates lingering pain

This work is mostly done with minimal oils and lotions.

I use Cupping and Gua Sha to help amplify Myofascial techniques.

*Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body.
