Doula and breastfeeding support

I don’t Catch Babies, I hold mothers

My mission as a Doula is to empower women, one birth at a time while nurturing strength and inspiring confidence.

As a doula, woman, mother and wife, I am here to help you create the birth experience you envision. My main focus is to guide you towards a natural approach, but I understand that childbirth can sometimes take unexpected turns. No matter how the journey unfolds, I am here to support you every step of the way.

I take great pride in sharing my birthing experiences with the families I support. I am the mother of two healthy and happy boys, each of whom was born under remarkably different circumstances. The birth of my first son profoundly enlightened me about the extensive preparation required to gain the confidence for a natural birth. The arrival of my second son represented the birth experience I had always envisioned; however, I realize that I could not have achieved that journey without the lessons learned from my first. Remarkably, I physically delivered him myself and while engaged in meditation throughout the entire birthing process. The experience of giving birth was brief, empowering, and entirely my own! Once it concluded, I felt a surge of confidence as I declared, “I can do that again.” I was on cloud nine, believing I could achieve anything. That exhilarating feeling is what I strive to provide for the women I support. The wise Ina May Gaskins once said, “We are the only species of mammal that doubts our ability to give birth. It’s profitable to scare women about birth. But let’s stop it. I tell women: Your body is not a lemon.”

Let's harness your God-given ability to infuse life into the world.

Why choose a doula?

Opting for a doula during this time can help reduce the likelihood of interventions, especially cesarean sections. Numerous research studies indicate that the presence of a doula enhances women's experiences during labor. This includes aspects such as natural progression, the ability to adopt various positions and comfort measures, as well as decreasing the desire for an epidural.

A Cochrane Review, initially published in 2012 and updated in 2017, analyzed studies involving over 15,000 women. It concluded that having continuous support from a doula (as opposed to a nurse or a family member) may significantly impact outcomes that:

-Decrease the rate of Cesarean section

-Decrease the use of forceps/vacuum at delivery

-Decrease the use of Pitocin

-Decrease the use of pain medication in labor

-Shortened labor

-Increase birth satisfaction rates for the mother

-Increase in higher APGAR scores for baby

"Support offered by trained labor coaches such as doulas has been associated with

improved birth outcomes, including shortened labor and fewer operative deliveries."

January 2017, Approaches to Limit Interventions During Labor and Birth

"Published data indicate that one of the most effective tools to improve labor and

delivery outcomes is the continuous presence of support personnel, such as a doula."
